You may have seen this technique used in comic books or some old 3D movies. Each stereogram actually consists of multiple images. The image for one eye is colored red and the image for the other eye is colored blue (or, sometimes, green.) By placing a red-colored filter over one eye and a blue-colored filter over the other eye, each eye can see only one of the two images. With each eye getting a different image, the image appears to have 3-dimensional depth! These images require the classic red-blue glasses for viewing. Red goes over the left eye and blue goes over the right eye. If you don't have a pair of red-blue glasses around, you can get a pair from American Paper Optics [2/1999 - APO's web page vanished recently. We'll post new contact info when we have it. In the meantime, try Rainbow Symphony, Inc.] Other Anaglyph Sites:The 3-D Web |
