Transparent Exits

(24 July, 2000)
A transparent exit is one which, when looked at, reveals information based on the description and contents of the destination rather than solely on the properties of the exit itself. This may allow you to see other characters or objects in distant rooms.

To create a transparent exit, set the exit's description to @3490, and set the real description on a property on the exit called _desc. The program will display the _desc message and then {if the room beyond isn't dark} it will list the non-dark objects in destination room. If the exit has the _opaque?:yes property set, _odesc will be displayed instead of _desc and no objects will be listed. If the property _type is set on the exit, it will be substituted into the output strings in place of "exit" {e.g. "You see nothing beyond the exit.")
