Each Christmas Eve for the past 20
years, this suburban Phoenix neighborhood has decorated the
street with luminaria (paper sacks with candles inside.)
They light the way for Santa Claus, who comes to bring
presents to all the good little girls and boys. Many of the
local children assist in the annual construction and
distribution of the luminaria, under the logistical
guidance of a brave and spirited neighborhood family. Every
few years, the torch is passed to less weary souls and the
tradition continues.
